Shared with Friends
the beginning is at the end
I know but disjoint are the ends
of it is a thread alluringly seamless
Still so many are the shreds
and loose ends to make out
to needle in and sew up
after ends and before end
hazy and glassy the past is
and a stem from there I come
cut off far too below to gaze
the present and future run
the pattern is jigsaw run
breaks in any time to smoothen
the life to a straight line
so beautiful is the still life
the kinks all sink to thin smile
of unknown origin of ones own bile
the vessel and vehicle before made
where the pudding of life is cooked
the thoughts of present life
and the past deeds mix up
always to dawn a fathomable end
mind you and me that we are
strangers not to others
but alas our own sweet selves
with profound gratitude to ' Leonard Cohen Lyrics'.
