ద్ర అంటే మృదువని,అఘనమనీ ప్రవాహి అనీ అర్ధము.విడము అంటే సౌష్టము కలిగి లేదా గుండ్రని అనీ అనుకోవచ్చు. ద్రావిడ భాష అరవమనిన్నీ పిలవబడుతుంది. అరవమంటే చక్కని ధ్వని కలిగిన భాష అని అర్ధము.ద్రావిడములో పద్యము గద్యము కన్నా బాగుంటుంది. సంగీత నుడికట్ట్లు సులువు గా ఎర్పరచ వీలున్న భాష. తెలుగంటే,తేనెలూరు భాష అనీ తేటమాటల పాటల నుడికారాల పూల పడవ గోదారి దారిగా గలదనీ,మొగలి,బొగడపూల పరిమళభరితమనీ మన తెలుగు కవులు కొనియాడిన బాష. some thing more: the history of draviDa relates to much much older era.
